Both parents and kids love our sailing camp. A maximum of 3 kids per instructor ensures safety and fun. Learning the wind and tides goes a long way towards knowing that the kids will always safely make it back and the Hobie Wave Catamaran sailboats are way more fun to sail. Monday thru Friday, 9am thru noon; please book early because the camp fills fast! The morning camp program is designed for kids from 7 to 12 or so and is a great intro into the fun of sailing. Combining the pure magic of simply gliding on a surface that you cannot walk on propelled by an invisible force and the fun and challenge of getting to different locations around the bay, it makes learning fun and varied so that there is lots to achieve. We enjoy showing off the life we share the water with;be it nesting Osprey, Sea Stars on a sandbar and also whatever washed up while beachcombing a secluded beach. Aiming to install the basic skills embodied in the description that “seamanship is the practice of using superior judgement so you are not forced to use superior skills” without trying to beat them over the head with it.
Afternoon sailing camp is limited to 2 students and this is boot camp for cat sailing.m-th 1 to 5 pm .Riding waves while sailing the inlet is a normal format. Older kids with basic skills in sailing have a ball. Learning how to pusha boat hard, flip over crash and burn and get back on to do it over and over makes for confidence and proves out the safe values we stress. Very little beating about the head. Its fun to watch the kids and instructors grow and have a great time!
